One in every eight people on the planet continues to have no access to electricity. In an energy scenario that ensures access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all, we need to increase the use of renewable energy from 25% at present to around 38% by 2025. This signifies an annual investment of 441 billion dollars in renewable electricity generation.
Renewable technology has reached a high level of competitiveness compared to conventional energies, not only in cost terms, but also technical capacity, reliability and quality.
